MIA Park Bazaar

The MIA Park Bazaar opened yesterday, the 1st of October. Almost a hundred stalls have been set up in the park, with the beautiful museum building serving as the perfect backdrop.

The first section is for food. They have a variety of home-made ethnic foods stalls where you can taste authentic home cooked food. They had Malaysian, Syrian, Lebanese, Filipino, Indian, and Iraqi food on display. Every week, there will be different variety of food stalls. The famous Pie Lady was there! I have heard so much about her pies from friends. She must have done great because by the time we got there around 4.30, all her pies were gone! Check out her Facebook page for more info.

Overall, its a great place for families with children to spend a day. The kids can run around and play, and there are plenty of toy stalls to keep them entertained. Plenty of food, drinks and desserts available, and you can pick up some unique gifts for the upcoming holiday season!

It also gives you a chance to meet interesting people in the city, see what they do and encourage their talent. Definitely something to check out, and big props to the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) for putting this together.

I hope the stall owners stay until 7pm. I went twice last year after work (around 5:30pm) and most stalls are empty. Not much fun for me and I feel like I’ve wasted my time.

Hey Lou, the stall owners only stay until their wares are sold! So the quicker the stuff gets sold out, the sooner they leave! I visited at 4.30 this time and all the stalls were still open.
